PAYMENT
Payment for the hire of the vehicle and the bond is to be made in full at the commencement of the hire. This can be paid for by Cash, Eftpos, Bartercard, Credit card or Debit card. (Except on commerical vehicles where payment is taken after completion of the hire unless you are putting down a cash bond + estimated hire). Payments made using a credit card will incur a surcharge fee calculated at 2% of the total rental.
The name that will appear on your statement will be WAIKATO CAR RENTALS LTD.
BOND
A full credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners) is required for security of the insurance excess liability on the vehicle. If you have a Debit or Eftpos card then we would require a 500.00 bond + the estimated hire. Cash Bond of NZ1000.00 + estimated hire is required for drivers 21 years old & under.
INSURANCE
Comprehensive insurance is included in our daily rate. This covers damage to our vehicle and third party property. An excess applies to all vehicles.
Insurance Excess Liability
NZ1900.00 for drivers 22 years & over
NZ3000.00 for drivers 21 years and under
NZ2500.00 excess for Motorbike - Standard, no excess reducer available.
NZ2500.00 excess for furniture trucks.
Optional Insurance Excess Reducer is available by looking at our insurance chart or contacting with us for a quote.
(This does not apply to drivers under 25 years old)
FUEL
Each vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank.
(A surcharge of NZ45.00 will apply on top of the cost of fuel to any vehicles not returned full of fuel)
DRIVERS LICENCE REQUIREMENTS
Drivers must be able to produce a Valid Full Drivers Licence which they have held for over 2 years. This must be presented on commencement of the hire. International and overseas drivers licences are accepted, providing they are accompanied by an English translation.
Vehicle Class Requirements (all full licences required)
Cars, utes, cargovan, 12 seater minibus, 1.5 tonne truck & 3.5 tonne trucks - Class 1 (Full Car Licence)
5.5 tonne & 6 tonne trucks - Class 2 (HT Licence)
Motorbike - Class 6 (Call us if you are sitting your licence)
DELIVERY/ DROP OFF FEES
Additional fees do apply to:
- Airports
- Weekends
- After Hours
- Out of CDB area
- 1-2 day hires
- Public Holidays - (If for any reason we may be open on a Public Holiday fees will apply)
CANCELLATION/REFUNDS
A fee may apply where a booking is cancelled within 7 days of commencement of the hire.
There are no refunds for early returns. A refund may apply if 48 hours notice is given or an agreement on booking is discussed, therefore the daily rate may increase..
DURATION
If the length of the hire is shortened, then the rate per day may increase. Minimum 1 day rental.
One day is defined as a 24 hour period - Your 24 hour day starts from the time of the booking.
VEHICLE AVAILABILITY
While endeavouring to supply the vehicle quoted at the time of reservation we reserve the right to substitute with a similar vehicle or an upgraded model at the same cost.
